Transhistorical Coincidence

– August 6, 2021

I was intrigued by each of the nearly 8,000 panoramic photographs I went through because there is no particular focus. Instead, our gaze is being dispersed along a space-time continuum. I find it tantalizing that the eye is unable to arrive at a synthesizing gaze. Because panoramic photographs cannot be incorporated easily in the back-end, I have chosen to include a selection of 4 x 5” (raw) recordings of loc.gov’s reproduction department. Here we could speak of desirable environmental noise in a renewed and ambiguous spatial constellation.
